Welcome Message - Primary Department

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Primary Section here at Al Maha Academy for Boys, Doha. My name is David Jackson and I am the Head of the Primary School. Originally from England where, after a period working within the petrochemicals and aerospace industry, I decided to enter the teaching profession as I feel extremely passionate about children’s learning. I have been a Head Teacher in the UK and have extensive experience of motivating children through education in other Gulf countries plus those in the far-east.

Education is a journey and our predominantly Qatari boys are growing up in the most dynamic and progressive of countries. Here at Al Maha Academy for Boys we aim to create children who will become well rounded citizens; helping to ensure that even at a very young age, they are beginning to develop the life skills they will need to succeed at international universities and companies. Your children will quickly become fluent in English and Arabic and we will provide that important firm foundation on which their future education and life experiences can be developed, nurtured and built upon.

I welcome you to make contact with myself here at Al Maha Academy for Boys and to come and view our extensive facilities and watch our pupils in action. Supported by a dedicated teaching staff we ensure that every boy achieves his full potential by following our progressive curriculum based upon the UK National Curriculum with appropriate amendments to reflect our unique Islamic and Qatari identity.

A warm welcome to you all.

David Jackson, BSc(Hons), PGCE, NPQH

Head of Primary

I am delighted to join a school that has warmly welcomed me from the day I arrived in Doha. Thank you everyone!

As an experienced Deputy Head from an outstanding primary school in London, I have demonstrated a track record of achieving exceptional outcomes in children’s learning. It was accomplished through positive relationships with the students, staff and parents alike.

I am proud to be part of the Ta’allum group which provides a bigger stage for experienced teachers and leaders, offering scope for a brilliant support network. As an accredited leadership facilitator for the Institute of Education, I aim to encourage the growing culture of strong leadership here starting with our boys in year one. This will consequently train them to become the frontrunners in all industries across the globe.

We will not only strive for excellence for our students in English and Mathematics but our aim is to ensure that the children also take pride in their co-curricular activities. My passion lies in the arts and sports which will see our students thrive, being motivated to achieve their artistic and sporting dreams; should that be their desire.

I aim to further promote the Qatari Islamic traditions and values so that all students become confident, respectful and well-rounded individuals. I will be relentless and committed in my approach to delivering the best opportunities for our boys by cultivating their creativity through high-quality teaching and learning.

I greatly look forward to your support and engagement building on the successes already achieved at Al Maha Academy Boys School.
